What's new with release 4.5?

  • Bug fixing: Software crash when importing a file containing forged or malformed keys.

Release Note 4.52 build 003 (Feb. 2009)
  • Feature: New ‘View’ option in contextual Windows menu above ‘Decrypt’ encrypted file.
  • Improvement: Default user directory used when ‘decryptTo’ from an email.
  • Improvement: Consistent use of Color Based Password Risk Evaluation for all password fields.
  • Bug fixing: Encryption error when closing the email client software right after double click on encrypted file in an email received.

  • Improvement: Save text message in separate file instead of warning.
  • Improvement: Show level of security of a password when entered by user.
  • Improvement: Clear up all files and text message after email has been sent.
  • Bug fixing: When decryption to a file that exists already, check also if alternate default file name exists.
  • Bug fixing: Change setup icon.

  • Bug fixing: default directory to export contacts should be ‘my document’.

  • Improvement: Default directories (i.e. "my document" or "desktop") defined when trying to save decrypt to or import.

Release CryptoMailer 4.08 (Oct. 2004)
  • Feature: New Console button and GUI menu allowing to restart the IKE service.

  • Bug fixing: Correct management of the "Open/Close tunnel" button on reset IKE.

Release CryptoMailer 4.05 (Jun. 2004)
  • CryptoBoard allow to customize the banner bitmap of CryptoMailer.
  • Contextual Help for CryptoMailer.
  • Contextual Help for CryptoBoard (recovery administration tool).
  • Classical setup for CryptoMailer.
  • The alea used for encryption are now generated following the PKCS#5 recommendation.
  • The Initial Vector (IV) is transmitted together with the encrypted files, for key and password encryption.
  • A menu is associated to the attached files to be encrypted.
  • Better management of the password used for access control.

Release CryptoMailer 4.03 (May 2004)
  • Recovery available : CryptoMailer may come together with an optionnal recovery module: CryptoBoard.
    This module allow CryptoMailer to produce recoverable encrypted files. This feature is especially designed for enterprise use, allowing administrator to recover encrypted files when users lost their passwords or when they leave the enterprise.

  • Proprietary Setup for CryptoMailer which allow to manage correctly the upgrade of versions.
  • Automatic detection of a password when it belongs to the list of password.

Release CryptoMailer 4.01 (Jan. 2004)
  • Securized Import/Export of passwords to ease the exchange of lists between users.

  • A password may now protect the access to the software.
  • Encryption available with AES 128 bits.
  • Several files may be encrypted and sent together.
  • Encrypted files are also compressed (LZH).
